New Brewery Is Working to Save Part Of Brighton History

The Becker Brewery is currently under construction at the site known by residents as the "Pink Hotel" at 500 W. Main Street.

Visitors to downtown Brighton are getting a front row seat as they watch the progress of transforming the former Pink Hotel location into the much anticipated Becker Brewery.

The historic location has been under construction for more than a year and owners John and Matt Becker are anticipating an opening date this fall, according to reports.

According to a Facebook post from Downtown Brighton, the owners are working to salvage as much of the original materials as possible from the building and have also gone to great lengths to find matching bricks with the trademark color as well.

"After a near nation-wide search the owners found a brick that is the same size and texture of the original," the Facebook post read. "Color was a bit more difficult so they opted for the lighter pink/tan shade that is present in the original structure... a very subtle result.

"Additionally, the owners, John and Matt Becker made sure they saved any original brick they removed and even took great pains to replace brick below grade and use the original stuff for the accents, e.g., window trim, on the addition."

In a previous Brighton Patch story, the owners saidΒ that maintaining the historical integrity of the Pink Hotel is key in their operation.
