Brighton Mom Prom Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Brighton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Brighton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Save the date

  • Brighton Mom Prom

All lladies, 21 and over are invited on May 10. This is a girls only night out with dancing and fun all night. Get an old prom dress, bridesmaid dress, or any evening attire and grab your girlfriends. Tickets are $40 after that or at the door.

2. For your information

Workers are stripping the topsoil from the Hawkins north parking lot and stripping the top lays from the high school practice fields and leveling the area. They continue to put some of the final grading on the stadium field at the high school.

All the premier drainage has been installed, concrete curbing is almost complete, and the conduit was installed that connects the stadium to the high school.  Matt Marino will be keeping online bond construction albums for each building.   • Brighton Among Michigan Communities to Receive Loss Control Achievement Awards

The city of Brighton was among 26 Michigan communities have earned statewide honors for their outstanding efforts in maintaining safe work environments.

4. For your information

A commercial project for St. Johns Hospital needs a 8-13 year old girl who can really skateboard. And is willing to shave her head. She would be playing a cancer patient. $1000 for two year use on TV, internet and print.
