‘Tis the Season to Celebrate at Brighton Library’s Holiday Open House

Holiday festivities for the whole family this Saturday from 11-3 p.m.

Ring in the holiday season Saturday, Dec. 8 from 11-3:00 p.m. at the Brighton District Library’s Holiday Open House. Families will enjoy an afternoon of festive caroling, bell ringing, a special visit from Santa and his reindeer, a Winter Wonderland Magic Show, stories, crafts, refreshments, and more. Admission is free.

The festivities begin at 11 a.m. with a visit from jolly old Saint Nick and one of his reindeer. Inside, kids will have an opportunity to sit with Santa to tell him their wishes and dreams while outside, from 11 a.m. until noon, families can see one of Santa’s magical reindeer.

Starting at noon, magician Gordon Russ will get the holiday surprises started with his Winter Wonderland Magic Show. Russ’s show includes snowmen, elves, and other characters that will keep audiences wondering, laughing, and wanting more.

Harpist, Diane Dunn, will perform from noon-2 p.m. In addition to being a renowned Harpist, Dunn is also a children’s book author who wrote The Adventure of a Harp Mouse, a story about an adventurous mouse who has musical talents that he wants to share.

Back by popular demand, will be the Echoes of Praise Hand Bell Choir from Brighton’s First United Methodist Church. Hear bell music performed at 2 p.m. followed by audience participation.

Throughout the afternoon, holiday stories will be read, kid’s crafts will be available, and families are invited to enjoy refreshments provided by the Friends of the Brighton District Library. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Brighton District Library.
