US-23 Lane Closures Slated for the Weekend

Road crews will be working to move US-23 traffic out of the split merge traffic configuration.

There will be a single lane closure on southbound US-23 between I-96 and Silver Lake Road as crews work to move US-23 traffic out of the split merge traffic configuration, according to a press release from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).

On Friday, Oct. 5, between 10 a.m. and noon there will be a single closure between I-96 and Lee Road.

On Saturday, Oct. 6, there will be a single lane closure at Silver Lake Road between 7 a.m. and noon.

And on Sunday, Oct. 7, there will be a single lane closure between I-96 and Grand River Avenue between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

In addition, the southbound US-23 ramps at Silver Lake Road are expected to reopen this Saturday. However, the ramps will be closed again briefly in the next couple weeks for final paving. Once a date is set for that work, more information will be made available.

Once the split merge traffic configuration is removed this weekend, two lanes will be maintained in each direction on US-23 with a traffic shift at the Huron River bridge, while crews complete work at this location.
