Week in Review: Governor Signs Anti-Bullying Bill, Patch.com Announces Deck the House Contest
A summary of news for the week ending Dec. 10.
Here is what you might have missed in Brighton news this week:
- On Tuesday, we reported that the Humane Society of Livingston County was awarded for having more adoptions than any other limited admissions shelter in Michigan in 2010.
- Also on Tuesday, we reported that Gov. Rick Snyder signed the anit-bullying bill. The bill gives school districts six months to develop clear anti-bullying policies, which are required to be in place at the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
- On Thursday, we announced Patch.com's nationwide Deck the House contest that could win $100,000 for your local public school district and $500 to pay your winter electric bill.
- On Friday, we reported that the conceptual Mill Pond Master Plan received lots of postive feedback during the public meeting Thursday night.
- Also on Friday, we reported that Livingston County had the largest decline in median income from 2000 to 2010, according to a Bloomberg Businessweek inflation-adjusted analysis of U.S. Census Bureau statistics.
