Witches and Princesses and Super Heroes, Oh My!

Brighton Elementary Schools celebrate Halloween with parades in and around the schools.

Hornung Elementary students braved the cold and wet drizzle Wednesday morning as they strutted their stuff around the school during the annual Halloween parade.

Captain America seemed to be the most popular costume for boys, but there were a fair share of Iron Mans and even a couple of Incredible Hulks.

For girls, the favorite was royalty - whether it be Queen Cleopatra or Princess Merida from the Disney movie Brave. There were also a few witches and fairies scattered in the group.

SELCRA's Tridge-or-Treat remains scheduled Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., rain or shine. SELCRA Recreation Superintendent Ken Grybel said the event will continue as planned unless severe weather forces them to cancel.
