ELDER LAW ATTORNEY LISA H. BEATTY TO PRESENT FREE SEMINAR FOR SENIORS & FAMILIES  ON "SEVEN COSTLY MISTAKES
OF ESTATE PLANNING" TUES & WED, 7/22-23 IN HOWELL

HOWELL, MI.__Elder Law Attorney Lisa H. Beatty of the Nawrocki Center for Elder
Law, Special Needs & Disability Planning, PLLC of Brighton, MI, will

present a free seminar entitled "Seven Costly Mistakes People Make with

Estate Planning" for senior citizens and their families 10 am Tues, July
22 and again at 6:30 pm, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital
Livingston, 620 Byron Road, Howell, MI. (west entrance Community Rooms).

The Seminars are free but persons attending are encouraged to register

online at www.nawrockilaw.com or by calling 866-737-5007.

Beatty, a 15 year veteran attorney who previously served with United

Autoworkers (UAW) Legal Services, said the seminar is designed to

educate and enlighten seniors and their families about Estates.

"As unbelievable as
it sounds, six out 10 people do not have a Will,"

Beatty said. "If a person should die without proper planning, your

estate will go to Michigan Probate Court which will be costly, time

consuming and removes any privacy over your holdings."

Beatty will cover a number of topics in estate planning including

"adding joint owners to an estate," "no trusts," "not
funding a trust,"

"not updating trust documents," "estate tax exemptions,"
and "believing

a revocable trust along is enough."

"Consumers don't realize that estate tax laws change, and it is

important to stay up with the times," she said. "Our seminars are

designed to educate consumers so they can make the right decision in

planning for their future and for their families or heirs."

Beatty is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Detroit College

of Law at Michigan State University. She has served as an adjunct

professor at Thomas Cooley Law School, Lansing.

She is active in a
variety of civic affairs including the Redford Civic Symphony

Orchestra, Birmingham Bloomfield Symphony and she is a member of the

Hartland, MI Area Community Council.
