Dogfest 2013

 Dogfest. The annual celebration for dogs, dog owners and their families, and all dog lovers runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Arise Church Community Dog Park, south of M-36 at 11211 Dexter-Pinckney Road in Putnam Township. Admission is $10 per car or $5 per car with an onsite donation of dog food for the Gleaners Pet Pantry of Livingston County. Proceeds are used for improvement to the dog park and future Dogfest events. The gate opens at 9:45 a.m. Events include a pet costume parade, singing dogs and dog contests. The family-friendly event will also include live musical entertainment, face painting, doghouse bounce and kid’s games. Lunch is available onsite at the Doghouse Cafe. There will be dog-themed vendor booths in the doggie mall and dog-related demonstrations and speakers. The event is smoke and alcohol free. All non-aggressive dogs, toward both other dogs and people, on a six-foot or shorter leash are welcome to attend. Rain date is set for Sept. 28.
