April Deboer and Jayne Rowse, along with their legal team, are fighting to overturn Michigan's ban on same-sex marriage and the accompanying discriminatory adoption code.  This case presents the best and earliest opportunity for marriage equality and adoption equality in Michigan, and could possibly go on to the U.S. Supreme Court, where the record from this trial could be used to strike down the ban on same sex marriage in all the remaining states where it still exists.  Proceeds will go toward expert witnesses, depositions, and other legal expenses.  The trial begins February 25 in federal court in Detroit.
