The
Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum


This
timeless classic story of Dorothy and her trip to Oz will be brought
to life once again on the beautiful Jane Tasch Theatre stage.
Dorothy is played by Pinckney resident Lindsey Savalli who dreams of
a magical land “somewhere over the rainbow”. When she’s
actually brought there on day by a tornado, her journey becomes all
about getting back home. The only one that can help her is the great
and powerful oz, played by Michael Rutkowski. Her and her three new
friends she meets along the yellow brick road. Scarecrow (Joe
Aeschliman) , Tin Man (Patrick Rutkowski), and Lion (Andrew Wickham).
It is a cast of over 80 members and making her director debut, Sally
Mikat and assistant director, Heather Aeschliman. Musical songs
include Over
The Rainbow, Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead), If I Only
Had A
Brain,
If I Only Had A Heart, If I Only Had The Nerve , We're Off To See The
Wizard (Follow The Yellow Brick Road), The Jitterbug,
and
The Merry
Old Land of Oz
.
The show runs, April 5, 11 and 12th
at 7:00 p.m. and April 6 and 13th
at 2:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale March 6 at Busch’s in Pinckney,
Brighton Tux in Brighton and Pinckney Community Education office in
Pinckney. Tickets are also available on line at
www.pinckneyplayers.comTickets are $14 for adults and $12 for
Students and seniors. Tickets are $2 more at the door. For more
