But we need your help. We know those kids are out there doing great things for and in the community, so let us know about them so we can help spread the word.
Today we feature college student Mackenzie Frasso of Brighton, 20, and a former Human Resources intern for Domino’s Pizza World Headquarters.
- Introduction: Frasso interned in the Domino’s Talent Acquisition Department in Ann Arbor this past summer and currently attends Central Michigan University.
- Achievement: Frasso recently won the Intern in Michigan Competition, which required students to write about their internship experience and what they gained/learned in 1,000 words or less. Describing her work experience that involved interviewing and hiring a full-time associate to becoming a photographer and updating the company's website to show parts of the Domino's campus, Frasso said she went into great detail about her internship experience.
- Keys to awesomeness: Excited about her "hands-on" experience and the level of work she was given during her time interning with Domino's, Mackenzie said she feels more confident as she continues to plan for her future career in Human Resources. "I think the fact that they treated the interns so great and really gave us such great opportunities really set my essay apart," she said. "They gave me so much responsibility, it wasn't just filing or working on an Excel spreadsheet, it was doing real life things."
- Future plans: Entering her junior year of college, Mackenzie says she hopes to return next summer as a Domino's intern and has already completed her application. After graduation, Mackenzie said she is committed to staying in Michigan and finding a position in the Human Resources career field. Being accepted into the Domino's Leadership Development Program is now her "main, 100 percent" goal. "They only take the best of the best," she said. "But I think it would be a really opportunity."
