Holiday Glow Lights Downtown Brighton

Balmy winter weather draws hundreds downtown to see the Mill Pond lit for the first time this holiday season.

Brighton's downtown Main Street became a winter wonderland on Saturday night during the city's annual Holiday Glow.

The warmer winter weather drew hundreds of people downtown for the event to get into the holiday spirit.

The night included rides from a horse-drawn carriage and a holiday choo-choo train, a petting farm and a mail station for children to write letters to Santa.

Brighton Mayor Jim Muzzin handed Santa and Mrs. Claus the keys to the city in front of the Mill Pond. He told the audience the key would allow Santa to enter all the homes in Brighton on Christmas Eve.

Santa then reminded children that he prefers cookies and milk on Christmas Eve.
