Video: Humane Society of Livingston County Adds Cage Free Cat Rooms

Shelter cats will move into five new cage free rooms in the next few weeks.

The Humane Society of Livingston County is wrapping up construction on five new cage free cat rooms.

The addition cost the shelter roughly $100,000, and was made possible through the donations of supporters in the community.

Many shelters are implementing cage free cat rooms because they improve overall health and provide natural living spaces for exercise, play and socialization. It has been a project the Humane Society of Livingston County has talked about for several years, according to Shelter Administrator Barb Benford.
