Happy Birthday Brighton Patch

Brighton Patch celebrates its second birthday Dec. 20.

Another year has flown by and Brighton Patch is celebrating its second birthday since the site was launched in 2010.

It's been more than a year since I moved to Brighton and became its second editor and it's hard to believe how much Brighton Patch has grown in that time.

Some of my greatest moments in 2012 were covering stories like the Howell Balloon Festival from the air and the on the track at the Brighton Roller Dollz Christmas bout. But most of all, I've enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful and supportive people in the Brighton community.

Last year, we highlighted all the great stories of 2011. This year, here's a look back at some of the very first stories published on Brighton Patch:

  • Welcome to Brighton Patch
  • Joyce Powers Closes Book on Board of Education Career
  • Electric Avenue: Brighton Approves Car-Charging Stations
  • Local Veterans Groups Assist Troops

I've had such a great time in Brighton this past year, and I can't wait to see what 2013 will bring.
