Hartland Administration

To whom it may concern:

I am a parent with a child enrolled in the Hartland Consolidated School district, and I am very concerned with the mindset of some of the administrative staff posting on social media. Specifically, the principal of Legacy High School has publicly reposted a tweet calling for all senior teachers to quit, as well as reposting a tweet from the Vatican. Both of these have been posted via a "school" account, rather than a personal account. The account @LegacyHartland is separate from his personal @KirkEvenson account, and appears to be the "voice of the school" essentially telling the numerous Hartland students & staff that follow these posts that Legacy is a Christian school (retweeting "Christ is Risen. Alleluia." from the Pope), and is calling for the senior staff to quit (by retweeting "Dear Old Teachers, Please leave. There's to much paperwork right? The job changed. You feel disrespected. (I need better budget numbers)"). This is extremely disheartening and cannot be good for either moral of the staff, or respect from the students. It's really sad to see this with a school as important and beneficial as the Legacy program certainly is, but maybe this explains the number of staff that have fled that program over the past couple years?

I would hope that this mindset/behavior is not considered acceptable from the Hartland Administration, however the post regarding staff removal has been up for a number of days now.

I have created this email for fear of backlash to my own Hartland student, however if this is the Administrative mindset, I believe we will be looking at other districts for the next school year.

Sincerely,
A Concerned Hartland Parent
