Weekend Planner: Bridal Show, Breakfasts, Storytime, Volunteer at the Park and 'Acoustic Café Series Opens'

Here's a look at what's happening around the Brighton area this weekend.

1.

Where:  Brighton High School, 7878 Brighton Road, Brighton

When: 1-5 p.m. Sunday Jan. 8

Cost: $8; buy tickets in advance at: http://herecomethebridesbridalshow.com/buy_tickets.html

Why go: Planning a wedding, or trying to influence your bridesmaid dress choice? See the latest fashions from The White Dress, a new bridal boutique in downtown Brighton. This is a really big show!

2.

Where: Livingston County Wildlife and Conservation Club, 6060 E. M-36 in Hamburg Township (Whitmore Lake mailing)

When: 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 8 (and the second Sunday of each month)

Cost: $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and $3 for kids ages 6-12. Kids ages 5 and younger eat for free

Why go: Enjoy an affordable, all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet; the prices ensure you can bring the whole family.

Where: , 9605 Green Oak Village Place in Green Oak Township (Brighton mailing)

When: at noon Saturday, Jan. 7 (note the new time)

Cost: Free

Why go: Kids can enjoy a "super storytime" in their own section of the store.

Where: , 12950 Grand River Road, Brighton

When: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7

Cost: Free

Why go: Get some fresh air and volunteer to help out the park by weeding out invasive, unwanted shrubs.

Where: The Opera House, 123 W. Grand River, Howell

When:  7:30 p.m. (doors usually open by 7 p.m.)

Cost: $7 at the door

Why go: Hear Robert Jones and Sister Bernice Jones open up Livingston Arts Council's annual winter Acoustic Café concert series; it's a mixed venue of easy listening musical entertainment that takes place most Fridays through April.
