11-Year-Old St. Clair Shores Kidnapping Victim Faces Attacker in Court

An 11-year-old St. Clair Shores girl who was grabbed and dragged off her bike in June took the stand Tuesday in 40th District Court against her accused attacker. The young girl was the only witness in the preliminary exam for Gaetano John Biondo, a convicted sex offender. He is charged with one count of kidnapping, child enticement.

Bloomfield Township Resident, Cranbrook Alumnus Killed in I-94 Crash
George Orley, 20, died when he was struck by a semi-tractor trailer as he reportedly tried to cross I-94 near Belleville at about 10:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Michigan State Police. Orley was a 2011 graduate of Cranbrook Kingswood, and was currently a student at the University of Michigan.

Woman's Stolen Identity Used to Get $19,000 in Student Loans
A Bloomfield Township resident discovered that someone used her personal information to co-sign for several student loans. The loans, totaling about $19,000 are now in default, and investigators are tracking down the students who benefitted from the loans.

West Bloomfield

Landscaper Finds Body in West Bloomfield Pond
Neighbors said they believe the woman's death may be connected to a car that had been parked in the area for several days. Sources have said the body may have been in the pond for "at least a week."

Clinton Township 

Man Charged in Double Murder is Mentally Disabled, Father Says
Abraham Miller said his son Jay Miller doesn't have the mental capacity to have killed Tina Geiger and her 11-year-old daughter, Kristina. The victims were found slain July 30 in their apartment. Jay Miller was charged with lying to police in a violent crime investigation and resisting and obstructing police.

49-Year-Old Detroit Man Severely Beaten in Canton
Police found the 49-year-old Detroit man laying on the ground. He suffered fractured facial bones, a fractured molar, facial lacerations and lung contusions. He was transported to hospital, the police report said. 

Trenton

Trenton Athletic Director Pleas Not Guilty to Embezzlement Charge
Authorities said Bret Woodley, 40, of Taylor, who is also an assistant principal at Trenton High School and a seasonal part-time Trenton employee, embezzled between $1,000 and $20,000 while working at the Kennedy Aquatic Center.
