Car Driven by Brighton Woman Drifts Off Road, Striking Guardrail

Catherine Giess sustained injuries from the accident and was transported to St. Joseph Hospital.

A Brighton woman was transported to the hospital on Monday morning after her car struck a guard rail on I-96, according to a release from the Michigan State Police- Brighton Post.

Police say at approximately 10:25 a.m., Catherine Giess was driving westbound on I-96 in the center lane when the vehicle began to drift to the right, exiting the roadway and striking the guardrail.Β 

Giess sustained injuries from the crash and was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Howell, according to the report.

Police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
