An 18-year-old Howell woman was arrested after her mother told police she had stolen a gold ring from her and $620 from her grandmother.
A Livington County sheriff's deputy found the 18-year-old in Whitmore Lake on March 26, the same day her mother reported the theft. The girl admitted to stealing the ring and pawning it in Detroit. She also admitted to stealing the money and said she had already spent it, according to the police report.
The 18-year-old told the deputy that she had used heroin about two hours before police found her, according to the report, and said she had a "severe heroin dependency."
The deputy arrested the girl and took her to the Livingston County Jail, where she told jail deputies that she was hiding heroin in her rectum, the report said.
The heroin was entered in to evidence, along with a written statement by the girl's mother.
The above information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
