Michigan State Football Players In Rollover Accident in Brighton

Michigan State Junior William Gholston and Freshman Lawrence Thomas were in a two-car crash on eastbound I-96 on Wednesday afternoon.

Michigan State University football players William Gholston and Lawrence Thomas suffered minor injuries in a rollover accident Wednesday afternoon on eastbound I-96 at Spencer Road in Brighton.

According to Sgt. Mark Thompson with the Michigan State Police Brighton Post, the crash occurred at 3:40 p.m.

The accident happened when another driver in a white four-door Hyundai sedan in the left lane swerved to avoid an unknown car that crossed into her lane. The woman lost control of her car, then swerved back onto the roadway, striking Gholston, who was driving in the center lane in a 1999 maroon Chevrolet passenger car. The two cars then swerved over to the right shoulder and rolled over, according to Thompson.
