Police Believe Juveniles Responsible for 15 Thefts from Vehicles in Brighton Township

Police are seeking multiple charges for three juveniles whom they believe are responsible for 15 thefts from vehicles in a Brighton Township neighborhood, according to a release from the Michigan State Police–Brighton Post.

According to the release, troopers were dispatched to a home in the 2100 block of Woodland Ravine Drive in Brighton Township on Thursday afternoon regarding an attempted theft.

According to police, the caller, a 45-year-old woman who lives at the house, was pulling into her driveway after returning from work and saw two male teenagers run out of one of her family's cars and behind her house.

The troopers on the scene later found what they described in the report as a "suspicious vehicle" driving around the neighborhood. The troopers stopped the vehicle, which was driven by a 17-year-old male and had two passengers—another 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old male.

According to the report, the troopers were able to connect the three teenagers with about 15 other thefts from vehicles in the neighborhood.

Police said the 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated and lodged in the Livingston County Jail.

Troopers say they are seeking multiple charges for all three juveniles for larceny from a motor vehicle and alcohol violations.
