Police: No Signs of Foul Play in Death of Brighton Man

Brighton chief Tom Wightman says body is now in custody of medical examiner for autopsy.

Brighton police were on scene at the in Brighton Thursday morning after a man was found dead.

Brighton Police Chief Tom Wightman said that police responded to a 911 call from an apartment resident. Officers found no signs of foul play, according to Wightman and the Livingston County medical examiner has taken control of the body and an autopsy will be performed.

Wightman confirmed that the deceased male, 31, had not been seen for several days and it was a possibility that the smell may have been what alerted residents.

An investigation is ongoing.
