Police Search for Drunk Woman Stuck in Tree House During Snow Storm
The following information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
An intoxicated woman called 911 early Sunday morning after getting stuck in a “tree house," according to a report from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.
At about 3:40 a.m. Jan. 5, the 21-year-old woman told police that after getting into a fight with her friend, she decided to search a tree house looking for a cat that had climbed up a tree in one of her mother’s dreams.
According to the report, the woman told police her mother had "a vision that the cat was in this tree house and she has wanted to check it ever since" and that was why she was there.

The woman then told police she was stuck in the “completely dark” tree house and that nobody knew where she was. She also was cold and couldn't get down, police said she told them.
Police met the woman’s friend who was out looking for her in the 4100 block of Brambleberry Ct. The friend told police there were no tree houses, but several hunting blinds throughout the property.

Using a GPS location from the woman’s phone, police say they were able to narrow the search until they heard a woman’s scream. Police say they were then able to locate footprints in the snow, which led to a neighbor’s tree house hunting blind, quite a distance away from the house.
According to the report, when police found her, the 21-year-old woman was lying on the floor of the hunting blind, her eyes were open and she was looking at the police officer, but was unresponsive.
Police say it was snowing heavily outside and the temperature was about 15 degrees. The woman had no hat or gloves on and was only wearing black stretch pants, boots and a jacket, police said.
After helping her to climb down, police say she was escorted to the ambulance, but refused to answer questions.
After the woman’s mother arrived, the Brighton resident told police she believed her daughter was having some “mental issues” and was on medication that she had been told she wasn’t supposed to drink with. According to the report, the mother requested her daughter be evaluated further.
Police say the woman was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
