Remains Identified as Green Oak Township Teen

Body found in lake is Chad Austin Killen, who was 17 when he fled from home in 2009.

According to WHMI, police have announced that the body discovered in this week is that of a missing Green Oak Township teen.

The body was recovered from Murray Lake on Thursday after it was reported by a recreational kayaker. According to WHMI, the Livingston County Medical Examiner has positively identified the remains as that of Chad Austin Killen, who was 17 when he went missing in May of 2009.

According to www.livingstondaily.com, Killen was last seen fleeing into a wooded area in Green Oak Township after “being confronted by family members,” according to a 2009 Michigan State Police statement. He has not made contact since that day, and was entered in the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children database.

Hamburg Police Lt. and Acting Chief Brian DeNoyer said foul play is not suspected in the case.
