Motorcycle Driver Seriously Injured After Striking Deer in Brighton

Police say the 41-year-old man was not wearing a helmet and alcohol was a factor.

A 41-year-old Milford man struck a deer Saturday night in Brighton Township, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle.

The man was not wearing a helmet, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, and alcohol was a factor.

Police say the accident took place on Hyne Road near Pleasant Valley Road around 12 a.m. and the man was transported to the University of Michigan hospital with life threatening injuries.

Hyne Road was closed for approximately two hours while police investigated the scene, and according to police, the incident remains under investigation.
