5 Things on the Agenda This Week

Spring break, Wooden Spoon Cafe and cuts to SELCRA are on tap for this week.

1) It's spring break in Brighton this week. Students at all Brighton Area Schools are off through Friday, and sports and activities are suspended.

2) The will meet at 7 p.m. Monday. On the proposed agenda is acceptance of a proposal for burrowing animal control at Collette Dump; as well as correspondence from Partyville and Old 23 Party Store requesting Sunday alcohol sales.

3) Brighton's Downtown Development Authority will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday to authorize sale of the former Mexican Jones to Wooden Spoon Cafe for $328,000. Board members also will finalize the DDA Vision Statement for downtown Brighton.

4) will discuss its proposed budget hearing notice during its meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday at . The budget plan includes raising the residential refuse user fee to $13.64 per month and reducing the city's contribution to Southeastern Livingston County Recreation Authority by half. A public hearing on the budget is scheduled for April 21.

5) Brighton's meets at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brighton City Hall, and meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the library.
