Brighton Township Says Farewell to Deputy Clerk

Deputy Clerk Lucille Weaire's officially retires on Wednesday

Though Brighton Township Deputy Clerk Lucille Weaire will be retiring from her position with the township as of Wednesday, she won't be going very far.

In fact, Weaire plans to run for election to the Brighton Township Board of Trustees this year.

"I thought, OK, we've got a terrific elections committee, so that's under control," she said. "I didn't want to compromise that office, with my name on the ballot, touching the ballots, processing, handing, sending them out, I just didn't want to compromise that office.
