Facebook, What Do I Read Next?

Brighton librarians recommend your next favorite book.

Looking for a good book? Join the for our first Facebook Readers’ Advisory event Wednesday, July 20, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The library is hosting the event to help all readers decide what to read next. Readers simply log onto the Brighton District Library Facebook page, post the last three books they’ve enjoyed, and a group of librarians will suggest one or more book titles.

One lucky participant will win a $25 Barnes and Noble gift certificate. Adult Summer Reading participants will also receive two entries in the Adult Summer Reading Program prize raffle for a chance to win gift certificates or the grand prize of an all-new Nook e-reader, along with a Barnes and Noble gift card and a one hour instructional session with one of the Library’s computer techs.

Join us on Facebook for this event and Twitter for other fun programs and events coming up. In addition to Facebook programming, the library has also begun to participate on Foursquare, a location-based social networking website.

“Check in” on Foursquare via your GPS-enabled mobile device every time you come to the Library for the chance to unlock specials and gain user points. For example, your first check-in will activate a certificate for a free book from the Friends of the Brighton District Library’s book shop!
