Family-Friendly Stroll around Town Walk Benefits Kids

The Brighton District Library invites the public to Stroll around Town, Saturday, May 12, beginning at 9 a.m. This family-friendly walk, about kids and for kids, is intended for all ages and is a fundraiser to benefit the Library’s early childhood materials and programming. 

Join Tigger and Pooh as they lead us on a springtime stroll throughout Brighton.

“We look forward to meeting new families and continuing to stress the important message that learning begins at birth. The first three years of a child’s life are critical to their success in school and in life,” said Carla Sharp, Head of Youth Services at the Brighton District Library.

Bring out the strollers and wagons and invite friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to walk with you or to sponsor you. Stroll registration is $10 per person and $20 for families. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. at the Brighton District Library, rain or shine. Sorry, no dogs or bikes.  Lace up your walking shoes because Stroll around Town officially begins 9:45 a.m. All walkers can join the fun by keeping track of their steps with a free pedometer. Free balloons for all participants and kids ages infant to five will receive a gently used book of their choice upon completion of their walk.

The Stroll around Town course starts at the Brighton District Library, follows the sidewalk along Grand River to Main Street, crosses over to the Millpond boardwalk, and finishes up at the Library.
