FBI Agents Endorse U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers

FBI Agents Association recommended U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers for the new director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

On Monday, a group representing more than 12,000 FBI agents recommended that President Barack Obama nominate U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Howell, as new director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Rogers, a former FBI agent, was endorsed by the FBI Agents Association, according to a report from MLive, who released a statement in support of Rogers and urged President Obama to nominate Rogers for the post when current Director Robert S. Mueller III’s term expires in September.

The Press and Argus reports that Rogers hadn’t anticipated the announcement and that he couldn’t say whether he would consider the position if nominated.
