Introducing Creation Station: Your Digital Studio at Brighton District Library

This new technology allows individuals to use innovative ideas for their creative projects.

Do you have a creative streak? Or do you have a video project to make or need some sound editing done? If the answer is yes, then the Brighton District Library has the perfect technology tool for you: The Creation Station is your new digital studio.

Creation Station can be used to tweak photos, create a podcast, design a promo video for yourself or your business or just to spend time in creative play.

This new system includes a powerful laptop computer with DVD burner, a digital camera, a Flip digital camcorder and headset with microphone. It is also equipped with the following software: Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 (for photo editing), Adobe Premiere Elements 9 (for video editing), Picasa (for uploading photos online), Audacity (for sound editing), Windows DVD Maker, Windows Movie Maker and Microsoft Office 2010.

The Creation Station is available for in-library use only, and patrons 18 or older may check it out for two hours at a time. Individuals younger than 18 may use it with a parent. There are plenty of study rooms available to ensure patrons some privacy as well as peace and quiet while they use the Creation Station.

This addition to the library's technology is thanks to the generosity of the McKee family, in memory of William A. McKee.
