Rogers Named Chair of House Appropriations Subcommittees on School Aid and Education

Rep. Bill Rogers will also serve on general government and corrections subcommittees.

Rep. Bill Rogers (R-Brighton) was reappointed by House Speaker Jase Bolger to continue his work on the House Appropriations Committee and once again chair the appropriations subcommittees on school aid and department of education.

"Education reform is critical to make sure all Michigan students get a good education, regardless of where they live," said Rogers. "We have already started taking a hard look at how our education system and programs are funded and those efforts will continue in the school aid and department of education subcommittees this term."

Rogers also will serve on the appropriations subcommittees on general government and corrections.

"The state budget process has come a long way in two years," Rogers said. "The budget is now completed based on real dollars, months ahead of schedule with a focus on efficiency in government programs. This important change is helping our state succeed and be financially stable for years to come and I look forward to continuing these efforts when working on the budget this term."
