Brighton Library's Summer Reading Program Begins This Week

The library has summer programs for kids, teens and adults from June 11 to Aug. 3.

Today the popular Summer Reading Program begins which runs through August 3 at the Brighton District Library. This free eight week program is available to anyone ages preschool through adult. The Summer Reading Program began in the 1890s as a way to encourage children, particularly those in urban areas, to read during their summer vacation to retain what they learned during the school year. Today’s program continues its focus on reading and has added amazing programs and incentives, like books and prizes. To join, simply register at the Library where a staff member with explain how the program works.
