This Week @ the Library

New young adult books to check out, from Brighton District Library's Teen Services Librarian Anne Cnockaert and Marketing Librarian Sarah Perry.

It was recently announced that the popular Hunger Games trilogy will be made into a movie. That news has made the series more popular than ever, but if you're in the mood for some other great dystopian fiction, here are a couple more books you might like, too:

Across the Universe by Beth Revis. Earth has been destroyed and Amy and her parents are cryogenically frozen and placed on a spaceship along with other settlers destined for a new habitable planet it will take 300 years to reach. Thawed 50 years ahead of schedule, Amy joins with Elder, the teenage future leader of the ship, to discover who is waking up other settlers and leaving them to die.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver. Set in a future society where everyone is "cured" of their ability to love after turning 18, Lena isn't sure what she should do when she develops feelings for a mysterious young man named Alex.
