Best of Brighton Patch Winner: Coney Joe's

Coney Joe's won 27 percent of the vote in the Patch "Best Of" Lunch Spots contest.

Patch readers have spoken and the votes are in for the best lunch spot in Brighton.

Receiving 8 votes (27 percent) in the contest, the iconic family-owned restaurant has been a fixture in the downtown area for 40 years.

Owner Kim Bredow said that a customer mentioned the Patch "Best Of" contest to one of her employees, who then put it on Coney Joe's Facebook page.

"We're Livingston County's oldest restaurant," Bredow said. "For four generations people have been able to come back in and everything is always the way the remember it, whether it's been a year or five years or 10 years. It's a hometown feel. You can take up a conversation you started with somebody six months ago."

Bredow said the coneys, Chicago dogs and sliders are the restaurant's most popular lunch items.

Coney Joe's is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
