A Sign of Spring: Brighton Girls Soccer Plays in Lakes Area Showcase

Varsity, junior varsity compete with more than 40 schools on Friday, Saturday.

FARMINGTON HILLS — The girls soccer team was one of more than 40 teams competing in the ninth annual Lakes Area Showcase, also known as the 9th Annual Carrie Saxton-Woods Soccer Invitational, that was held at seven different high schools this weekend.

The junior varsity, coached by Michele Kitta, were scheduled to play against Northville and Plymouth on Friday at Walled Lake Central High School. Varsity, under the leadership of Head Coach Deepak Shivraman were expected to compete against Stoney Creek, Dexter and Lake Orion on Saturday at North Farmington High School. The two teams play their first games March 29 at home against Okemos High School.
