Over a hundred Brighton High School students are rehearsing their acting, singing, dancing, and technical details daily, building and painting sets, selling tickets and program advertising, managing the show’s social media, and preparing the “front of the house” for the show. Parent and community volunteers are involved in every phase of the backstage and offstage portions of the production.

Most everyone knows this “Tale as Old as Time”, set in a tiny town in provincial France. Eccentric tinkerer Maurice gets lost in the woods and seeks shelter in a castle full of magical characters.

The master of the castle is a horrible beast who takes Maurice captive. Maurice’s bright daughter, Belle, gives up her own freedom to save her father. Belle and her new friends in the enchanted castle must tame the Beast so that he learns to love and be loved before time runs out, or he dooms himself and all the denizens of his castle to be cursed forever.

Surround this story with comic relief from the town’s most eligible bachelor, Gaston, and the lessons of not judging a book by its cover and not giving up, and you have a performance that will leave you enchanted and impressed at how one real village brings a storybook village to life!!
