A winter snow storm following this past week's thaw resulted in the second "snow day" of the year in Brighton.
The district announced the school closing, due to inclement weather around 5 a.m. Friday.
More than 300 school districts in southeast Michigan were closed Thursday, according to various news reports. Hartland Consolidated Schools, Howell Public Schools and Pinckney Community Schools all joined Brighton in calling snow days Friday morning.
The snowfall began in Brighton Thursday night and continued into Friday morning.
Today's forecast calls for more snow before 1 p.m., with a high near 28 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
