Brighton Beats Northville for Spot in Baseball Regional Finals

The Brighton Bulldogs beat the Northville Mustangs 3-1 to snag their seat in the Michigan High School Athletic Association regional championship game.

Michigan's summer sun wasn’t the only thing heating up the atmosphere at the baseball state semifinals Saturday.

The underdog Brighton Bulldogs (25-5) had high spirits and competitive juices  flowing, which kept them alive after a rocky start and led them to a 3-1 regional semifinal victory against Northville.

Catcher Blake Pokorski even almost fainted due to the heat and heavy gear.

Brighton seniors had to miss their commencement for the win, but they had a special ceremony on Thursday.

Brighton pitcher Ryan McClelland surrendered four hits and one run, with two hits himself.

The Northville Mustangs (29-3) pitcher Matt Stoikov gave up six hits, and three runs. Two of which were brought to you by a home run by Mitchell Kahl.
