Brighton Schools Close Due to Winter Storm

Brighton Area Schools are closed today due to snow fall received from the winter storm that hit Thursday night and will continue on into this afternoon. All school activities and events are canceled, including the Varsity Boys Basketball game to benefit The Wounded Warriors Project.

Many local private schools, including Holy Spirit Catholic School, close when the public schools do. will also be closed.

Local residents on their way to work this morning are seeing the effects of Thursday night’s winter warning with possibly half a foot of new snowfall accumulations in most of southeast Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.

The City of Brighton has also declared a snow emergency until further notice.
