Brighton Schools Superintendent to Hold Four Meetings about Possible 2012 Ballot Issues

The meetings will determine whether the community will support a bond issue and a sinking fund proposal on the ballot next year.

Superintendent Greg Gray will hold four informational meetings in order to outline the district's needs and begin gauging support for a bond issue and sinking fund proposal on the ballot for sometime next year.

The meetings, which will take place in the Brighton High School media center, will also include tours of an elementary school, and the high school.

Gray will present the feedback from parents, students, staff and community to the Board of Education during one of its meetings.

He told parents in an email that Brighton Schools completed an extensive facility renewal program that the district is working to get uploaded to its home page. Gray also told parents he will make similar presentations to area clubs and organizations and that he would take suggestions.

The meetings will be held from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 13, Oct. 20, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3. Those interested should meet at the main entrance at Brighton High School to participate in the school tours.
