Brighton Students Continue 20-Year Tradition Collecting Toys for Tots

The Brighton High School DECA Club and School Store collected toys and money to give to local needy families this holiday season.

Brighton High School DECA Club members and the Peddler's Paw school store collected Toys for Tots monetary donations as well as new, unopened toys under the supervision of Marketing Teacher Pete O'Neill.

Through fundraising efforts, they collected more than $700 and more than 400 toys for Livingston County kids this holiday season.

The high school has been doing this for more than 20 years. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges across the globe.

The Buckley Jolley Real Estate Team loaned their community truck to transport the gifts. Brighton Kiwanis member J. Michael Lenninger transported the many boxes of toys to the Toys for Tots warehouse.

This year the Brighton Kiwanis club assisted Toys for Tots by picking up toys at the over 40 Brighton Toys for Tots drop off locations.
