Brighton High School Choir Director Phil Johnson, a former Accafella himself, has been doing a version of this show for several years at his previous school. Brighton is his largest show yet.

"It's a fantastic way for my kids to see what they can do after they get out of high school and promote pop music in a way that makes choir look cool," Johnson said.

The audience can expect to hear pop a cappella, similar to what fans hear on the TV show Glee, but without the instruments.

Johnson said students are excited and a bit nervous to perform with the college groups.

"They're used to being the big dogs when it comes to choir programming in Brighton," he said. "It will be neat to see how they react to that. They always rise to the challenge, but it will be fun to put them in a spot where they can learn from more experienced performers."

The proceeds from the evening will go to support the Brighton Choir Programs and will be used to purchase music and uniforms, upgrade equipment and cover contest entrance fees and travel costs.

Tickets for the event cost $10. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Mike Larsen at 810-588-6407 or Debbie Harkins at 734-478-2615.
