Hamburg Township Halloween Spooktacular

Hamburg Township Spooktacular, an exciting Halloween event, takes place from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at the Hamburg Township Center on Merrill Road.

This very special event is being hosted by the township’s Community Recreational Services Organization (CRSO) and will be open to the public “free of charge,” according to Toby Semprevivo, CRSO’s special events committee chairman. “We are being joined by many members of the community, local businesses and service organizations from within Hamburg who are committed to creating a truly exciting and memorable experience for kids of all ages," she added.

Fun activities include a costume parade/contest sponsored by the fire department and a “jailhouse lock” hosted by the police department.

Kids will also be able to visit the “haunted library,” take part in the township’s “Jack-O'-Lantern” contest, or give a try at the “spooky soccer maze” being set up by the Pinckney Blues Soccer Club.

One highlight of the evening will surely be the “Trunk or Treat” event, which will be made up all the types of novel cars and trucks that kids dream about including: police, fire and DPW vehicles; a real Humvee military vehicle sponsored by the Howell Armory; and a variety of utility and service vehicles being sponsored by Ace Hardware, Zukey Lake Tavern, Todd’s Services, Ed Bock Feeds, Kiwanis Club and others.

“There will be free prizes, refreshments and other treats for the more than thousand participants expected to attend,” added Semprevivo.
