Save the Wildlife 5K Run/Walk

Registration is underway for the Howell Conference & Nature Center's 4th annual Save the Wildlife 5K Trail Run/Walk. Supported by a $5,000 grant from Citizens Insurance and the Hanover Group Foundation, the event will be held on Saturday, September 22. Race Day Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and the events-including a 5K trail run, 5K trail hike, and 1 mile Wildlife Walk--begin a staggered start at 10 a.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m., and the morning will culminate in the grand opening of the Nature Center's newest day-use feature, Alexandria's NatureScape.

The course winds through the Howell Conference & Nature Center trails and roads over nearly 270 acres. ChronoTrack timing will be managed by Race Services Company.

Those who register in advance of race day enjoy a reduced fee–$20 for the 5K trail run or walk and $10 for the 1 mile Wildlife Walk. Both rates go up $5 after 9 a.m. September 20.
