In girls basketball, Rochester Hills Stoney Creek defeated Lake Orion 55-46.

8:43 p.m. Update via e-mail from a reader: Farmington Falcons beat Livonia Franklin 8-0 in boys hockey. Farmington will play the winner of the Roosevelt-Southgate Anderson game.

8:38 p.m. More updates from Wyandotte. Wyandotte Roosevelt girls basketball wins, 59-43, over Woodhaven to advance to thedistrict final on Friday. Meanwhile, the Roosevelt hockey team leads Southgate Anderson 3-1 in the second period.

8:35 p.m. In girls hoops, Hartland wins 38-24 over Lakeland.

Meanwhile, Royal Oak Shrine has tied Bishop Foley 30-30 at halftime.

8:32 p.m. In boys hockey, Macomb Dakota has taken a 3-o lead over rival Chippewa Valley at the end of the first period.

8:30 p.m. Rochester Hills Stoney Creek's girls basketball team leads Lake Orion 27-24 at halftime.

8:27 p.m. In boys hockey, Livonia Churchill has stormed out to a 7-0 lead over Dearborn Unified. Benjamin Proben has scored twice for Churchill.

8:03 p.m. Two updates from Wyandotte. In girls basketball, Roosevelt leads Woodhaven 48-36. In boys hockey, Southgate Anderson has tied Wyandotte Roosevelt 1-1 with a goal with 10 seconds left in the first period.

7:56 p.m. Royal Oak Shrine trails Bishop Foley 17-9 at the end of the first quarter of their girls basketball district semifinal.

7:49 p.m. In boys hockey, Wyandotte Roosevelt takes early 1-0 lead over Southgate Anderson.

7:44 p.m. Heartbreaking ending for the Ferndale girls basketball team. Ferndale falls 58-56 in final seconds. The Eagles are called for two technicals in the game's final 10 seconds—one for calling a timeout they didn't have, the other for arguing a non-call. Lincoln sinks one free throw on each technical and that proves to be difference.

In other girls basketball action, Romeo defeats Rochester 32-25 in a district semifinal. Romeo advances to play the winner of the Rochester Hills Stoney Creek-Lake Orion game, which is about to start.

7:41 p.m. Grosse Pointe North girls basketball team leads St. Clair Shores Lakeview 20-11 at halftime.

7:32 p.m. In girls basketball, a strong second quarter has helped Wyandotte Roosevelt take a 32-24 halftime lead over Woodhaven.

7:30 p.m. In boys hockey, the season is over for Saline. The Hornets battle hard but lose to Pinckney, 4-2 in pre-regional hockey.

7:28 p.m. Wyandotte Roosevelt's girls basketball team trails Woodhaven 18-13 at the end of the first quarter.

7:25 p.m. There's a nailbiting girls basketball finish between Ferndale and Lincoln. The two teams are tied at 56-56 with 16.9 seconds left. Ferndale has the ball out of the timeout.

7:15 p.m. In girls basketball, Ferndale trails Lincoln 52-49 with 2:49 to go. Two of Lincoln's starters have fouled out, and both leading scorers Janecia Jenkins (Ferndale) and Brittany Streetman (Lincoln) playing with four fouls.

6:42 p.m. After trailing Romeo 21-14 at halftime, Rochester has cut the deficit to two points heading into the fourth quarter of its girls basketball district semifinal game.

5:41 p.m. Anchor Bay boys hockey team trails Port Huron Northern 1-0 at the end of the second period.

5:24 p.m. In boys hockey, New Baltimore Anchor Bay and Port Huron Northern are tied 0-0 after one period of play.
