Art and Music Blend in Annual Downtown Brighton Festival

The 29th Annual Fine Art & Acoustic Music Festival returns to downtown Brighton this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Downtown Brighton will fill with visitors this weekend as crowds gather to browse the work and listen to the soothing sounds of talented artists and musicians during the 29th Annual Fine Art & Acoustic Music Festival.

This year, the event has expanded to a three-day extravaganza and added four new stages on Main Street in downtown Brighton. The stages will be located in front of , , and .

Visitors and locals alike can stroll down Main Street speaking with artisans who have created the finest in original works in glass, watercolor, oils, sculpture, photography, pottery, jewellery, woodcarvings and more.

This event - also a prestigious juried art festival - is a favorite among highly talented artists who travel across the state and nation to participate, according to Michelle Miller, Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce Human Resources Director.

There will be 56 artists participating in the art fair this year - about a handful more than last year, Miller said.

In order to participate, artists send in samples of their work and a committee decides if they will be entered in the event. The work must be original – no buy and sell.
