Amos: A Hunting Dog with a Sad Story

A male Coonhound is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello, my name is Amos. I'm a 3-year-old Coonhound that was found as a stray, so I'm a bit underweigt at 51 pounds.

I was picked up by a DNR officer on some state land, so it's quite likely that whoever owned me just abandoned me there. It happens more than you know, and it seems like it's typically hunting breeds that are abandoned.

I may be house-trained, but it's hard for the staff sometimes to make that call in a shelter environment. My new family should be prepared to work on that with me though just in case.

Because of my breed, I should have a fenced yard to keep me from wandering. I haven't had much obedience training and am in desperate need of some! I have no manners but am eager to please and easy to train with food!

Since I need some training, I should not go home to a family with small children. I am neutered and up-to-date with routine shots.
