Jim Bob: Lucky Dog with a Sad Story

A male Beagle is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hi! My name is Jim Bob but you can just call me Bob. I'm a neutered male Beagle that was born around 2008.

You may notice that there are a lot of Beagles for adoption especially around this time of the year. A lot of times, as in my case, when we don't hunt well, we aren't wanted. The lucky ones, like me, get surrendered to a shelter or rescue. The unlucky ones have worse things happen to them, and sometimes they don't survive.

I'm great with kids and do fine around other dogs, too. Although I've been mostly an outside dog I have kept my kennel clean here at the shelter. I will probably mark my territory when I first get out but that can be corrected.

I'm tri-colored but mostly black. The staff said I'm handsome. I will probably chase cats when I get comfortable in a home so consider that if you have cats at home. I do it for fun, not to be mean. I also am always looking for a way to escape and run so I will need a diligent owner who will make sure to keep me contained.
