Year Of Energy Celebration

The workshop is free and open to the public

WHAT: The workshop is designed to explore human patterns of consumption that are causing societal disruption within the life support system of the Earth. The workshop will present practical suggestions on how to reduce energy consumed in the areas of waste, hot water and heating & cooling.

“Our unsustainable consumption of fossil fuels to heat and cool our homes, to heat our water and produce ‘stuff’ is getting us into ‘hot water’ with the planet’s natural systems,” said Dale Petty, WCC Industrial Technology faculty member. “Much of the damage may seem to occur far from our homes – for example, there was a significant toxic oil spill recently in the Kalamazoo River. However, it’s crucial we do everything possible to preserve the Earth’s natural resources -- regardless of where we call home.”

The workshop is free and open to the public.

WHEN/WHERE: Thursday, February 6 starting at noon in Room 151 in the Technical Industrial Building at Washtenaw Community College, 4800 E. Huron Drive, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48105.
